Why Worship Arts?
In the year 1742, the great composer George Frederick Handel responded to a well-wishing fan with what has become my “life quote”. He said “I should be sorry if I only entertained them. I wish to make them better”. Those words have stayed in my heart over the years and have been reinforced over and over again in scripture as we seek God’s design for the learning and leading of worship in the church.

God created us for a purpose. One of those purposes is to ADORE Him with all of our heart, soul and mind. To worship Him not only with artistic gifts, but with our lives and actions. The Worship Arts ministry of SunRise exists to fulfill that mission. We serve God by crafting the worship experience to glorify Him alone, to communicate the Gospel, and draw ourselves and others into a closer relationship with our Creator.

As artists in the church we can...
  • Offer our gifts in worship to the One who gave us these gifts

  • Fellowship with artists who share a passion for music and the Arts

  • Learn what God’s Word says about His desire for the character and discipleship of the artist

  • Participate in the mission of communicating the Good News to those who don’t know Jesus through the language of the song, dance, drama, visual and technology Arts.
Our prayer is that God will use the Arts in a mighty way, and that He will use SunRise to reach out to a lost world with the love of Christ.
