Since January of 2006, God has used the SunRise family to touch the lives of hundreds and thousands
of people in our area and around the world with His compassion and generosity. Here are some
of the many things we have to celebrate!
- 1100 pounds of pork was delivered to Centenary CARES free meals program from
proceeds raised during Souper Bowl of Caring
- Wendy Largo, an 8 year old in Ecuador, has been able to attend school and receive
basic care this year through the financial assistance of SunKids
- A medical team of 7 people from SunRise provided medicine and medical care to the
impoverished village of Talanga in Honduras. Over 500 people were treated by doctors
and a total of 700 received vitamins and antiparasite medicine
- Children in a downtown homeless shelter experienced a real birthday party
- A village in Mozambique, Africa was able to dedicate a new church, complete with
pews and paraments financed and provided by SunRise through its covenant relationship
- St. Louis Crisis Nursery received baby blankets and formula
- Close to 93 units of life giving blood were donated, helping 279 people
- Prepared and served food on a quarterly basis to almost 200 homeless persons through
Centenary CARES free meals program
- Residents of Delmar Gardens received monthly Bible study
- Three food pantries were provided with groceries to help families in need through
SunRise Feed My Sheep ministries
- Several youth participated in a walk for multiple sclerosis
- Over 60 families were assisted in a time of crisis through SunRise’s local benevolence fund
- SunRise Pet Pals made 16 pet therapy visits to our neighbors at Delmar Gardens nursing home
- Prison inmates received over 300 Bibles which were distributed at a prison evangelism event
- Youth and adults ministered to hundreds of children and families in Oklahoma on the Youth Choir

- VBS children made and sent over 50 blankets saying “Jesus Loves Me” to Central America
- A team of 4 from SunRise provided disaster assistance to the city of Gulfport, Mississippi
- 21 SunRise volunteers assisted with two Habitat homes
- Approximately 5 people rode in the MS150, raising money and awareness for multiple sclerosis
