Our Mission
Our goal at SunRise Preschool is to provide a developmentally appropriate
program within a Christian environment that nurtures your child’s spiritual,
physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Our program emphasizes
creativity and promotes the development of self esteem, peer cooperation, and
strong moral values. We encourage children to experience God’s unique love
for them as individuals and to understand He loves all children.
Our Curriculum
Our preschool curriculum follows the guideline of the National Association
for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC) and includes hands-on experiences
in science, art, music, storytelling, and physical activity. "Kids in Motion,"
a monthly, hour-long class led by a certified gymnastics instructor, exposes
our preschoolers to age-appropriate physical movement and gymnastics.
Our Classes
We no longer offer an all day Children’s Day Out Program.
We now offer the class for Young Threes two days a week. This is for children
who turn three years of age between June 1st and December 31st of the new
school year. It is not necessary for children to be potty trained for this
class. Classes are held from 9:00 to 11:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Children in this age group are not elligible for our extended
day program, Lunch Bunch.
Classes for 3 year-olds meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings, or Tuesday and
Thursday mornings or afternoons. Morning classes are from
9 to 11:30 and afternoon classes run from 12:30 to 3:00. The class ratio is
eight children to one teacher. To be eligible, your child must be three years
old by August 1 of the new school year and toilet trained.
Pre-kindergarten classes for 4 year-olds meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Morning classes are from 9 to 11:30 and afternoon classes are from 12:30 to 3:00.
The class ratio is 10 children to one teacher. To be eligible, your child must be
four years old by August 1 of the new school year.
A 5's class is offered for children who turn five years of age between June 1 and
October 31. Recommendations for this class may also come from our teachers. Parents
may choose between a four day-a-week class (M,T,W, Th mornings from 9 to 11:30) and a
three day-a-week class (T,W,Th afternoons from 12:30 to 3:00).
Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch, our extended day option, is offered each Tuesday or Thursday from 9 to
12:30 for the afternoon preschool students who would like to come early, and Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday from 11:30 to 3:00 for morning students who would like to stay.
