Nursery care for children who are infants through 36 months of age is provided
during all SunRise worship services and several church functions. Our youngest
churchgoers are cared for by paid staff members, and adult and youth volunteers.
We strive to make the nursery as safe and as healthy as possible. We use disposable
gloves for diaper changes and provide pagers for parents.
Nursery attendants will walk, rock, read, feed, and play with the children to
insure that they are content. Parents are encouraged to let us know if their child
has a preferred comfort technique!
Check-In and Pick-Up
If you are a first-time visitor, please fill out a green information card
located at our nursery check-in desk. These cards remain confidential and provide
us with specific information on how to best care for your child.
Please add any special instructions to the bottom or back as needed. Your child
will be signed in on our master check-in roster. You will be given a numbered pager if needed.
A clip with a corresponding number will be attached to your child’s diaper bag.
A nursery attendant will take your child and diaper bag to the appropriate room.
Please pick up your child promptly following worship service or the function you
are attending. A nursery attendant will bring your child and bag to you.
Pagers
Vibrating pagers are provided for your convenience and peace of mind. In the event that we page you,
simply depress the button twice to stop
the vibration. Please report to the appropriate nursery promptly.
Diapers
Please include adequate diapering supplies in your child’s diaper bag. Diapers
will be checked/changed the last 15 minutes of service and as needed. Diaper
changing is done only on the diaper-changing pad located by the sink. A three-step
cleaning method is used on the pad following each diaper change.
Snacks
A light snack of goldfish or animal crackers and water will be offered to the
older children in our nursery. Please let us know of any food allergies or
restrictions. Please provide a sippy cup labeled with your child’s name.
Your Child’s Health
In the interest of maintaining a healthy environment, please do not place
your child in the nursery if:
- your child has run a fever in the past 24 hours
- there is cloudy drainage coming from your child’s nose or eyes
- your child has had diarrhea or vomiting in the past 24 hours
In the event that your child comes down with a contagious disease following
a visit to our nursery, please call and inform our church office so that
adequate measures may be taken.
