Small Groups at SunRise

Take a class at SunRise! Many to choose from! We have women's and men's groups, children & youth groups, Bible studies, book clubs, and much more. Some classes meet in homes, others at the church - but all focus on great biblical teaching.

Walk-ins are always welcome.

Childcare is provided for every class held at the church unless otherwise indicated. We ask for a small donation to help with the cost.

All classes meet weekly from September to May unless indicated.


9:15 – 10:15 AM – Faith Builders – This group is led by Eric Hamrick. They are currently studying the book of Ecclesiastes. Faith Builders meets year round in Room 204.

9:15 – 10:15 AM – Ted’s Bible StudyThis group is led by Tara Hale and Rick Oliver and this fall they will be studying My Life is Not My Own by Bill Bright. Ted’s Bible Study meets year round in Room 212.

6:30 - 8:00 PM - The Daniel Plan This 40 day plan is a groundbreaking approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle that is both transformational and sustainable. The Daniel Plan is centered on five essentials that will guarantee your success: faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends. Weekly meetings will start on March 2nd and will be held in room 111. 7:00 AM – Men's Coffee Group – This men's group meets at the Starbucks on Highway K & Laura Hill Road on Monday mornings. They meet for coffee & fellowship while studying a relevant men's Bible study or curriculum.

9:15 - 11:30 AM – Women of Faith – WOF is led by Karen Stein and is studying Gideon:Your weakness, God's STRENGTH by Priscilla Shirer. They meet in Room 212. Childcare not provided.

9:30 – 11:00 AM – SISTERSThese ladies meet in Room 215 and are studying Gideon:Your weakness, God's STRENGTH by Priscilla Shirer. SISTERS focuses on fellowship, prayer, and lifting one another up while discussing undemanding curriculum in a relaxed environment. Come see what we are about!
9:30 – 11:00 AM – Women on WednesdaysWOW is led by Pam Engelhard & Julie Gawedzinski. This fall, they are studying James:Mercy Truimphs by Beth Moore. The WOW ladies gather to strengthen their faith through the in-depth study of God's Word. Meetings are held in the Celebration Space.
6:30 – 8:00 PM – SunRise Connect This class is led by Pastor Jim Blue and is an opportunity to discover more about who we are at SunRise, our beliefs, our ministries, and our invitation to membership. It is open to those who are new to SunRise, those who want to find ways to connect with SunRise, and/or those who want to become part of the SunRise family. This 8 week class meets in the Celebration Space and will begin on Wednesday, March 19th with the final class being on May 7th.

6:45 – 8:00 PM – Manly Men’s GroupThis group is led by Ed Collie and meets in Room 204. Men of all ages are welcome to join them for fellowship and in-depth discussion.  They are currently studying The Journey Series: The Bible teaching ministry of Pastor Tommy Higle.

7:00 PM – Booklights Book Club – This ladies group meets at Cappuccinos on Highway K the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The book changes monthly, with February's selection being The Breath of Dawn by Kristen Heitzmann.  March's selection is Submerged by Dani Pettrey. April's selection is The Air We Breathe by Christa Parrish. May's selection is You Don't Know Me by Susan May Warren.

6:30 – 8:00 PM – First Communion Study – First through fifth grade students can join us for our First Communion study. We are meeting in room 215, from now through April 23rd with our final celebration on April 27th at 2:00 PM.

Join us in an atmosphere of love, fellowship and support as we study God's Word together and learn to practically apply it to our busy lives. Their current study is Can We Talk? 6:15 – 8:15 PM – GriefShare – Are you suffering from grief over the death of a loved one? GriefShare is a grief recovery support group where you can face your challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. This group is led by Barb Kesselring-Bishop and Nancy Lane, and meets weekly in room 212. For more information, contact Barb at or call the church at 636-978-2727.

6:30 AM – Men’s Breakfast Group
This group of men meet year round at the IHOP on Hwy K for fellowship and breakfast.
They are currently studying Beyond Opinion by Ravi Zacharias.
