Small Groups at SunRise
Take a class at SunRise! There are many to choose from! We have women's and men's groups, children & youth groups, Bible studies, book clubs, and much more. Some classes meet in homes, others at the church - but all focus on great biblical teaching.

Walk-ins are always welcome.
Childcare is provided for every class held at the church unless otherwise indicated. We ask for a small donation to help with the cost.
All classes meet weekly from September to May unless indicated.
9:15 – 10:15 AM – Faith Builders – This group is led by Eric Hamrick. They are currently studying the book of Ecclesiastes. Faith Builders meets year round in Room 204.
9:15 – 10:15 AM – Ted’s Bible Study – This group is led by Tara Hale and Rick Oliver and this fall they will be studying My Life is Not My Own by Bill Bright. Ted’s Bible Study meets year round in Room 212.
6:00 – 6:45 PM – Children’s Choir – Children ages Preschool – 1st grade and 2nd – 5th grades are welcome to join our children’s choirs. Rehearsals are on Sunday nights when the Youth group meets for worship. They meet in Room 113. Contact Barb Mitchell for more details – firstname.lastname@example.org.
7:00 AM – Men's Coffee Group – This men's group meets at the Starbucks on Highway K & Laura Hill Road on Monday mornings. They meet for coffee & fellowship while studying a relevant men's Bible study or curriculum.
9:15 – 11:30 AM – Women of Faith – WOF is led by Karen Stein and is studying Children of the Day by Beth Moore. They meet in Room 212. Childcare not provided.
6:30 – 8:00 – Financial Peace University - Come be a part of SunRise's FPU Class of 2014!! Join us Tuesdays, starting September 23rd, in the worship space. We will explore debt-eliminating strategies, discuss how to save for retirement, deal with debt-collectors, give how God calls us to give, and SO much more! 9:30 – 11:00 AM – SISTERS – These ladies meet in Room 215 and are studying Hebrews by Lisa Harper. SISTERS focuses on fellowship, prayer, and lifting one another up while discussing undemanding curriculum in a relaxed environment. Come see what we are about!
9:30 – 11:00 AM – Women on Wednesdays – WOW is led by Pam Engelhard & Julie Gawedzinski. This fall, they are studying Malachi by Lisa Harper. The WOW ladies gather to strengthen their faith through the in-depth study of God's Word. Meetings are held in the Celebration Space.
6:30 – 8:00 PM – Growing Up Catholic – Pastor Jim will be leading this four week class which focuses on the many similarities as well as the handful of differences between the Roman Catholic and United Methodist denominations. This is a great class for folks who grew up Catholic, married into a Catholic family, or are just generally interested in the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of these two interrelated faith systems. The class will meet on September 3, 10, 17, & 24 in the Celebration Space.
6:45 – 8:00 PM – Manly Men’s Group – Men, you are invited to join the “MANLY MEN” Bible study starting Sept 10 @ 6:30PM in Room 204, lead by Ed Collie. They are studying Irvin Baxter’s insightful commentary on world events, history and how he believes they relate to Biblical prophecy. Some topics include: United States in the Bible?, New World Order, Islam, Israel’s God given destiny, Holy Roman Empire Reborn, The second coming, to name a few. All are welcome, you do not have to be SunRise affiliated!
7:00 PM – Booklights Book Club – This ladies group meets at the St. Louis Bread Co on Highway K the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The book changes monthly, with September’s selection being Burning Sky by Lori Benton. October’s selection is Outlaw by Ted Dekker. November’s selection is Stones for Bread by Christa Parrish.
6:30 – 8:00 PM – Kindergarten & First Grade Bible Study – Your K-1st grader can join us every Wednesday night for kid’s Bible Study in Room 113. Contact Melissa Nilges, Children’s Ministry Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.

7:00 – 8:30 PM – Working Women’s Bible Study – Facilitated by Christy Parks & Diane Mallinson, these ladies meet every other Thursday of each month in room 204. Join them in an atmosphere of love, fellowship, and support as they study God’s Word together and learn to practically apply it to their busy lives. They are currently studying Bad Girls of the Bible By Liz Curtis Higgs. Childcare not provided. Fall Dates are September 11 & 25, October 9 & 23, and November 6 & 20.
7:00 – 8:30 – 11th & 12th Grade Bible Study – Join our upper classmen as they dive deeper into their faith together. For location information contact Pastor Troy Merseal @ 636-978-2727.
6:30 AM – Men’s Breakfast Group – This group of men meet year round at the IHOP on Hwy K for fellowship and breakfast. They are about to begin a new study which is TBD.
