Small Groups at SunRise


Take a class at SunRise! Many to choose from! We have women's and men's groups, Bible studies, grief support, book clubs, and much more. Some classes meet in homes, others at the church - but all focus on great biblical teaching.

Walk-ins are always welcome.

Childcare is provided for every class held at the church unless otherwise indicated. We ask for a small donation to help with the cost.

All classes meet weekly from September to May unless indicated.

SUNDAY

9:15 – 10:15am – Faith Builders – This group is led by Tom & Karen Stein. They are currently studying the book of James. They meet year round in room 204.

9:15 – 10:15am – Ted’s Bible StudyThis group is led by Tara Hale and Rick Oliver and is currently studying Words in the Bible from Handel’s Messiah by John Newton. Ted’s Bible Study meets year round in Room 212.


TUESDAY

9:15 – 11:30am – Women of Faith – WOF is led by Karen Stein and is studying Malachi by Lisa Harper. They meet in Room 212. Childcare not provided.

6:00 - 8:00pm - GriefShare - This grief support and recovery group is led by Barb Kesselring-Bishop and is held in room 110. Meetings will be weekly from January 22nd through mid-April. Childcare not provided.

7:00 - 8:00pm - Working Women's Bible Study - This group is facilitated by Brenda Albers and meets on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month in room 215. They are studying Living A Life of Balance: Women of Faith Study Guide.  Childcare not provided.


WEDNESDAY

9:30 – 11:00am – SISTERS– These ladies meet in Room 212 and are studying Covenant: God’s Enduring Promises by Kay Arthur.  SISTERS focuses on fellowship, prayer, and lifting one another up while discussing undemanding curriculum in a relaxed environment. Come see what we are about!

9:30 – 11:00am – Women on Wednesdays WOW is led by Pam Engelhard, Julie Gawedzinski, and Nicole Halstead. This spring, they are studying Fulfill Your Ministry in the Wild of Community by Beth Moore. The WOW ladies gather to strengthen their faith through the in-depth study of God's Word. Meetings are held in the Celebration Space.

6:00 – 6:30pm – Fellowship dinner is served every Wednesday night at SunRise. Bring the family for dinner, children’s choirs, elementary age Bible study and adult classes. Cost for dinner is $5 per adult, $3 per child (ages 3-10) and children 2 and under eat free. Reservations are encouraged.

6:30 – 8:00pm – New Member Class - 
Spring classes will be held for four consecutive Wednesday nights beginning on April 17, 2013.  Those considering membership into the SunRise family are strongly encouraged to also attend the Christianity 101 classes beginning in March as a way to better assimilate into the mission and ministry of SunRise. New member joining will be on the weekends of May 11th/12th and 18th/19th. The class will meet in the Celebration Space.

7:00pm – Booklights Book Club This ladies group meets at the St. Louis Bread Co on Highway K the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The book changes monthly, with April’s selection being Dry as Rain by Gina Holmes. May's selection is When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin.


6:45 – 8:00pm– Manly Men’s Group This group is led by Ed Collie and meets in Room 204. They are studying The Journey Series: The Bible teaching ministry of Pastor Tommy Higle.


THURSDAY
6:30 - 8:30pm - Run for GodWould you like to run a 5k?? If you answered yes or even thought about it, then we have just the class for you! Run for God is a 5k training class that teaches you to run using the Bible. Come join your fellow running partners starting January 24th as we “Run for God”. FRIDAY
6:30am – Men’s Breakfast Group This group of men meet year round at the IHOP on Hwy K for fellowship and breakfast. They are currently studying Men of Character: David: Seeking God Faithfully by Gene A. Getz.
