About MOPS MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers (preschoolers include children from birth through kindergarten). MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom – urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home moms and working moms, teen, single, and married moms – moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
MOPS is about:
Celebrating motherhood
Meeting needs
Making connections
Experiencing God’s love…through relationships and resources
When does a MOPS meeting take place… We meet every 2nd and 4th Friday of the Month from 9:15 - 11:30 at SunRise in the east lobby. For upcoming meeting dates, please view the SunRise calendar
A MOPS Meeting… So, what can you expect at a MOPS meeting? You will find food, fellowship and fun activities.
Every meeting begins with a short devotional by one of our Mentor Moms. Some meetings will include a speaker offering inspiration and information that is relevant to the life of a mother with topics that celebrate motherhood. Afterwards moms will have a chance to share their successes, failures, questions, and concerns in a small group setting. It is during these times that a mother realizes that she is not alone, and life-long friendships are formed.
Some meetings include creative activities. Through craft projects and mission projects, women are encouraged to experience the sense of accomplishment that comes with trying new things and helping others in the community. This is also a great time for fellowship among your small group.
Service Opportunities: Are your kids already in school or grown? Would you like to serve in MOPS? There are three opportunities for mothers whose children are either in school or older. First, we are always looking for adults who enjoy sharing God’s love with our children. While our moms are at the meeting learning of Christ’s love for them, our children are also learning about Jesus. We need adults like you to help spiritually nurture our children. All teaching materials and supplies are provided! No advanced preparation is required on your part.
The second opportunity is to serve as a Mentor Mom and offer support and encouragement to the moms in the group.
The third opportunity is for your continued prayer! Please pray for the moms in our group, children, Steering Team members, and child caregivers.
If you feel led to serve or would like more information, please contact Michelle Wessler at 636-272-4918 or mcwessler@gmail.com.
